Baby Suite speaks MCP, the open standard AI assistants use to connect to your tools. Ask Claude, ChatGPT or any other MCP client about last night, feeds, growth or vaccines and get answers grounded in your family's real data: with your explicit consent, and read-only unless you allow logging.

Step 1: switch it on in the app
AI connections are off by default for every family. A parent turns them on once:
Open Baby Nest or Baby Journeys and tap your Profile.
Find 🔌 AI assistant connections and set the toggle to On.
Only a parent can switch it on (grandparents and sitters can't), and it needs an active Premium plan or trial. The same card lists every connected assistant, and switching it off disconnects them all instantly.
Choose Add custom connector, name it Baby Suite and paste the URL above.
Click Connect: a Baby Suite page opens. Sign in with your usual account and approve the connection for your family.
That's it. Try: "How did last night go for Mila?" or "When is the next vaccine due?"
Works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile; connectors follow your Claude account. Custom connectors require a Claude plan that includes them.

Open Settings → Connectors → Advanced settings and switch on Developer mode (available on paid ChatGPT plans).
Back in Connectors, choose Create, name it Baby Suite and paste the URL above.
ChatGPT redirects you to Baby Suite: sign in and approve.
OpenAI labels custom connectors a developer/beta feature; the menu placement occasionally moves.

Perplexity, Mistral's Le Chat, Cursor and most agent tools accept custom MCP servers too. Anywhere you're asked, use transport streamable HTTP and the URL above; the sign-in flow is standard OAuth. For example, in Claude Code:

A small set of read-only views, scoped to your family. It can never change or delete anything, and it can only add events if you've turned on logging below.

A newer, optional capability: an approved assistant can add events to the timeline, not just read it.
Off unless you say yes. Approving a connection now shows a separate checkbox: "Allow this assistant to log events (bottle, diaper, sleep, tummy time, notes)". Leave it unticked and the connection stays exactly as read-only as before.
What it can log. One log_event tool covers bottles, diapers, sleep, tummy time and notes: ask "log a wet diaper for Mila" and it lands in the timeline.
What it can't. Medicines, breastfeeds and growth measurements stay app-only, always: too easy to get wrong from a chat window.
Existing connections are untouched. Connected before this shipped? Still read-only until you revisit Connections and turn logging on yourself.
Revocable in one tap. Profile → Connections in Baby Nest or Baby Journeys: untick the box or disconnect, and write access is gone immediately.
Your data, your call
You decide. Connecting an assistant means the answers it requests are sent to that provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, …) under their privacy terms. Nothing is shared until you approve the connection yourself.
Read-only by default, rate-limited, audited. Every tool call is logged to your family's audit trail; an assistant can never change or delete your records.
Revocable in one tap. Profile → Connections in Baby Nest or Baby Journeys shows every connected assistant; disconnect revokes its access immediately.
